At the young age of 19, Schuyler Riley became the first female to win the USET Talent Derby. Shortly after that she decided to dedicate her life to the sport and become a professional—to both teach and ride at the highest level.

Up until three weeks ago, Schuyler Riley had gone three years without a grand prix win. The accomplished international show jumper from Wellington, Florida has accomplished a lot in her career; from the 2000 American Invitational winner, to a member of Team USA on Nations Cup teams in the early 2000s.

Schuyler Riley has been busy bolstering her already impressive show jumping resume, winning a stunning three straight FEI Grand Prix classes at the Tryon Summer Series. I watched her win the first two in person, and they were some of the most emotional and thrilling victories I have seen.

Schulyer Riley (USA) and Dobra De Porceyo captured the biggest win of the duo’s career together in the $127,000 Ariat® Grand Prix FEI CSI 3* under the lights in the George H. Morris Arena in the Tryon Stadium at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC). Riley and Dobra De Porceyo stopped the jump-off timers in 45.129 seconds as the only double-clear round of the night, beating out Angel Karolyi (VEN) and Venus, who finished in second place.

Sunday marked the kick-off of the new Longines FEI World Cup Jumping – North American League, and with a limited number of events to earn points, riders were aiming for the top of the leader board. Eight horse and rider combinations advanced to the tiebreaker, but it was the final pair that took home the victory, as Schuyler Riley piloted Dobra de Porceyo to a speedy double clear in the CSI3* $100,000 event at International Bromont.
